Synvisc-One – knee injection to relieve joint pain

There is a new treatment available to relieve joint pain – Synvisc-One.

 

Synvisc-One is an injection for the knee. This treatment temporarily replaces damaged synovial fluid to help relieve pain and improve joint function.

 

Viscosupplements are made from a substance called hyaluronan hy-al-u-ROE-nan). Hyaluronan is a natural substance found in the synovial fluid of your joints. The bodyʼs own hyaluronan acts like a lubricant and shock absorber in the joint, and is needed for the joint to work properly.

 

Synvisc-One generally reduces pain for up to six 6 months however it may reduce pain in people with certain types of knee pain for up to a year.
